Dr Buckingham
Founder & President
Dr. Buckingham served as the pastor of Moncton Wesleyan Church for 44 years, from 1969-2013. During that time, Dr. Buckingham, a 1961 Kingswood University graduate, led the church through relocation and helped the congregation grow from 150 to nearly 2,000.
Currently, Dr. Buckingham serves as the CEO of the Buckingham Leadership Institute. A sought after conference speaker, Dr. Buckingham has passionately addressed crowds around North America. He has held many District and General Church positions, including serving on the General Board of The Wesleyan Church, District Board and the Board of Directors for Kingswood University, as well as being the Assistant District Superintendent.
His success as an effective leader in ministry is known across The Wesleyan Church and beyond. He is a passionate preacher of The Gospel with a burning zeal to see lives changed by the power of God.
Dr. Buckingham is happily married to his wife, Lois, of over 50 years. They are currently residing in Moncton, New Brunswick.

As a 23 year old with very little church experience Dr. B took a risk and hired me as the Youth Pastor at Moncton Wesleyan. For the next 13 years (2000-2013) I was able to have a front row seat into his leadership, problem solving and vision for the local church. His encouragement fueled me to press forward and lead with all diligence in the area of ministry I was given. I am forever grateful that God placed me in Moncton and allowed me to grow in my leadership with Dr. B as a mentor.
Our worlds came together again in 2017. Dr. B was a few years into leading The Buckingham Leadership Institute after transitioning out of being the Senior Pastor at Moncton Wesleyan. He asked if I would partner with him in providing fresh vision, insights and administration horsepower to help BLI become even more effective and helpful. Now in our fourth year together we are seeing a new day of effectiveness for a coaching/consulting ministry in Atlantic Canada.
Austin White
Marketing Director
Austin White has been serving at BLI for 6 years doing marketing and design. Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia he got his ministry training from Kingswood University before moving to the U.S. to serve at Celebrate Community Church in South Dakota. After serving as their First Impressions pastor and as a part of their speaking team he is now settled in New Brunswick as Moncton Wesleyan’s Youth & Young Adult Pastor. He’s been married to his best friend Jess for 5 years and they enjoy biking, running and good coffee.

The Buckingham Leaders Network exists to inspire and equip leaders in the local church to maximize the fullest potential for themselves and the organizations they lead, all for the glory of God!

Vision
The Buckingham Leadership Network will increase the capacity of growing leaders and ministries across North America to impact their communities for the glory of God, beginning in Atlantic Canada.
By 2023, hundreds of leaders impacted by the Buckingham Leaders Network will report measurable positive changes in their congregations and communities. Churches will be inspired with a new vision and the insights to move forward to greater levels of effectiveness.
Strategy
The Buckingham Leadership Institute was cofounded by Dr. & Mrs. Laurel Buckingham and established as a ministry of Kingswood University in 2013.
Guided by the Great Commission vision and passion of Dr. Laurel D. Buckingham, the Buckingham Leadership Institute will provide equipping events, leadership coaching, organizational consultations, and academic scholarships. Dr. Buckingham will share leadership wisdom cultivated over 50 years of effective ministry.
Student Leaders
The Buckingham Leaders Network is committed to leadership development for the cause of the Great Commission. In addition to the Leadership Roundtable for established pastors, Dr. Buckingham works with next generation leaders on the campus of Kingswood University.
Each year, a cohort of 10 outstanding students, all of whom demonstrate above-average leadership potential, are selected for the Buckingham Scholars program. Dr. Buckingham hosts a mentoring event with these emerging leaders each month with the goal of encouraging them to achieve their fullest potential for God.
In addition to the monthly mentoring sessions, Dr. Buckingham engages these young leaders in significant learning opportunities with other catalytic leaders who come to the Kingswood University campus. These students will go on to lead ministries that will multiply the Kingdom impact of the Buckingham Leadership Institute for generations to come.
